Everley Elizabeth Adams, our little princess, was born on June 2, 2025, in Valparaiso, Indiana. With every cooing sound, she captivated hearts, and her radiant smile brightened the lives of all who knew her, accompanied by the most beautiful blue eyes. She was a precious baby girl who brought unfathomable joy to her family and friends during her brief time with us.

Everley had an extraordinary ability to bring warmth and happiness into any room. Her laughter, pure and sincere, rang like music, leaving everyone around her in awe of her spirit. She was a loving sister, finding endless delight in watching her big brother, Matthew, play. Their bond reflected an innocence and connection that only siblings can possess, and it was a joy to witness the laughter they shared.

Everley's presence was felt not just in her immediate family but extended in a large network of loving relatives. Her mother, Tabitha Adams, and father, Brandon Ohime, were enveloped by the love and happiness she radiated. The family also included her Aunt Lindsey (Ben), Mya, Nina, uncles Josh, Caleb, Michael (Brittany), and Justin, along with her cousins Brantley, Masyn, and Annalynn, who all admired and cherished her spirit, among many other extended family members who experienced her vivacious character.

The day of Everley’s passing on September 25, 2025, in Kingsford Heights, Indiana, brought sorrow, as the world dimmed without her vibrant presence. Everley’s memory will forever remain a precious treasure, a marked reminder of the beauty and joy she introduced into our lives. Though she departed far too soon, the impact she made will resonate in our hearts eternally.

As we remember Everley, we take comfort in the love surrounding her. She leaves behind a family united in grief yet bonded in the love she inspired. Charles, a man known for his kind-heartedness and unwavering support for the underdog, was born on June 25, 1946, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Guy and Mary L. (Garrett) Crone.

Charles's life was one marked by dedication and service. After completing a Master's degree and a post-master's degree in Education Specialist EdS from Purdue University, he embarked on a lifelong journey as an educator. His career began in Wanatah and Westville Schools, but it was in La Porte where he found his true calling, teaching at Park and Kingsbury Schools. His passion for education and his students was evident to everyone who knew him. Charles's Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life.

His commitment to his faith was matched by his involvement in the community, where he served on the Tree Committee with the City of La Porte and was a proud member of the Indiana Teachers' Association. An avid Purdue fan, Charles's love for his alma mater was only matched by his love for cars, animals, and reading. He channeled his passion for helping others into running an At-Risk program for youth, always advocating for those less fortunate.

Craig Alan Knudtson

Craig Alan Knudtson, age 64, of Swanville, Minnesota, gained the ultimate reward when he heard his Saviour say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant!" on September 15, 2025, at home in Swanville.

His nine-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia came to a peaceful end surrounded by family.

Born on April 8, 1961, in Pipestone, Minnesota, Craig lived a life marked by service, joy, and a steadfast pursuit of truth. From his youth, Craig committed his life to Christ and never looked back. His servant’s heart and ever-present smile were hallmarks of his character—blessing those around him with kindness and humility. He had the gift of seeing people with needs around him and went out of his way to make sure they were met. Craig found deep fulfillment not only in serving others but working to the best of his ability. He began his career at Peter Alan Company, where he built and installed custom cabinets. After relocating his family to Upsala in 2000, he continued his work at Brenny Custom Cabinets for several years before transitioning into the maintenance field—a role that allowed him to increase his skills and care for people in new ways. He served at Bethany Homes in Alexandria and later found great joy working close to home at Camp Lebanon. He had a genuine love for people, especially the elderly, and always took the time to make them feel seen. A visionary at heart, Craig always had many creative projects underway. He especially loved tending to his little hobby farm and took great delight in milking his two cows, Blossom and Sketch, when his kids were younger. But above all else, time spent with his grandchildren was what he treasured most. Craig’s legacy is one of faithfulness—to God, to family, and to the countless people whose lives he touched through simple acts of service and genuine care.

Craig was fully devoted to his family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Christine Knudtson; their children: Josh (Brooke) Knudtson, Glory (Luke) Peterson, Nate (Ally) Knudtson, Hannah (Aaron) VanHeel, Naomi (Evan) Thompson, and Francis Knudtson; as well as sixteen cherished grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Joan Knudtson; nephews David and Benjamin Temte; and niece Baby Ann Swanson.

All are welcome to his Celebration of Life that will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 02:00 PM at Community Covenant Church of Upsala, 122 S Main St.

In lieu of flowers, financial gifts toward the completion of their home would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Hannah with questions.

She was born on December 4, 1938, in Gary, Indiana, to the late John and Anna (Hatrak) Pawlicki. On July 4, 1958, she married Frank A. Arndt, who preceded her in death on October 30. 2006.

Barbara always thought...... God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.  The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.  Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.  Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it. Trusting that you will make things right if I surrender to your will.  That I may be reasonably in this life, and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Barbara loved eclairs, Chris' chili, and Rosie's banana bread.  She enjoyed bluegrass music in her final years.  She was an animal lover and never minded feeding one of the dogs her meal.  The last time she was caught feeding her dog, it was 2 half White Castle sliders.
She enjoyed being a spectator in bowling tournaments and kept accurate scores while Frank bowled. She loved northern Wisconsin and returned there many times with the family.  The last time was a journey through Michigan's Upper Peninsula to place some of Frank's ashes in the Flambeau Flowage of Mercer, Wisconsin.  She was always ready to go for a ride, and was content to sit in the car, with the 2 dogs in the back, while Chris ran errands.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, John Joseph; brothers,  Jerome, Gerald, and Ronald Pilarski.
With hands that tilled the soil and a heart that nourished her family, she grew to know the value of hard work and carried that strength into every season of her life. A devoted wife, loving mom, granny, great-grandma, and friend, she poured her days into both the farm and home. She was the steady foundation of her family, teaching her children not only how to plant a garden, bake bread, or make the world's best spaghetti, but also how to stand tall, face challenges, be kind, and be strong...like a bull. Though her days were often spent in work, she found joy in the simple things: the laughter of her family, the beauty of a garden at harvest, but most of all, the comfort of a home-cooked meal and the warmth of family gathered around her table. Her legacy will live on in the values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love that continues to grow in the family she built.

Richard Calvin Vogel

Richard Calvin Vogel, a man of vibrant spirit and infectious humor, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, at the age of 67 in La Porte.

Born on August 24, 1958, in Chicago to the late James Vogel and Betty (McCarty) Vogel, Richard was known for his unwavering positivity and zest for life despite the challenges he faced due to Cerebral Palsy.

Richard, fondly known as "the man with the constant smile," graduated from La Porte High School, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and was admired for his tenacity and cheerful disposition. His resilience in the face of adversity was not just inspiring, but it was also a testament to his strong faith, which guided him throughout his life.

On September 20, 1980, Richard married his beloved wife, Connie Sue Vogel, with whom he shared a love that many only dream of. Their union was one of mutual support and deep affection until Connie's untimely passing on April 8, 2003. Richard cherished the memories of their time together and continued to live life with the same love and joy they had nurtured as a couple.

Though he faced personal losses, including the heartache of the passing of his daughter, Kayla Vogel, Richard's ability to find joy in the simplest of things never waned. His love for Hershey chocolate, iced coffee, Subway sandwiches, and clothes shopping brought him daily pleasures. His frequent online shopping sprees led to a humorous saying among his friends that "Richard loved Amazon, and Amazon loved him."

Richard's residence at Cambridge Square was more than just a home; it was a community where he was cherished for his independence, his fun-loving nature, and his spirited approach to life. His laughter and stories were the heartbeat of many gatherings, and his absence will leave a void impossible to fill.

Among those mourning Richard's passing is his special friend, Marianne Laskoske of La Porte, who stood by him with unwavering support and shared many of life's simple joys with him. Together, they found laughter in the everyday and companionship that enriched both their lives.

Those who knew Richard will remember him as a man who was loving, funny, and full of spirit. He was a beacon of light in the lives of many, teaching by example that life is to be lived and enjoyed no matter the circumstances. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the indomitable spirit of a life well-lived.

In his younger days, Jack enjoyed fishing, squirrel, and rabbit hunting, especially with his brother Lee. Jack would often educate his children and grandchildren with his countless stories and memories of his life and experiences, and he was quite knowledgeable about the history of Michigan City as well as many other things.
One of his favorite memories was a trip he took with his brother Lee, where they traced and followed the route of their father and visited many of the locations he had lived and worked while following the harvest on a motorcycle in the early part of the last century.
We all know that Mom was waiting for his arrival at the pearly gates with a long list of things for him to do, and he loved it !!

Dianna "Toodge" Reynolds

Dianna "Toodge" Reynolds, a cherished woman known for her loving and caring spirit, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana.

Born on December 13, 1941, in La Porte, Indiana, Dianna's journey through life was marked by her deep love for family and her numerous talents.

For many years, Dianna dedicated herself as a core worker at Accurate Casting, where her hard work and loyalty were appreciated by her colleagues. Beyond her professional endeavors, she cultivated a rich tapestry of hobbies and interests. An avid crocheter and seamstress, Dianna found joy in crafting things with her hands. She was an enthusiastic gardener, nurturing her love for flowers, and expressed herself delightfully through baking, creating delicious homemade noodles, Mississippi mud desserts, zucchini bread, a variety of pies, and she loved snacking on treats. Her home was always filled with the comforting aroma of good food, made especially for her family.

Dianna had a spirited side; she loved to play pool and was a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. She found pleasure in solving puzzles, watching John Wayne and her beloved show General Hospital, and listening to country and western music. Christmas time held a special magic for her, filled with joyous celebrations and memories. An endearing quirk of Dianna’s was her playful competitiveness while playing card games and dominoes; if you did not play in such a way that was to her advantage, you got slapped! She had a great love for animals, birds, and she especially loved hummingbirds.

She leaves behind her beloved family, including her daughter, Annette (Jim) Pearish, and her bonus son, Tom Hough. Dianna's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Johnathon (Trisha) Miser, Crystal Morton, and Courtney (Jonathn Stevens), along with her treasured great-grandchildren—Brianna, Alexis, Haley, Kira, Savannah, Colin, Cole, Wyatt, Cameron, Heaven, and Aryanna. Her family also includes bonus grandchildren James (Alicia) Pearish II, Alicia (Joshua Sanchez) Pearish, Joshua (Morgan) Pearish, and Nita (Mike) Hackleman, as well as her bonus great-grandchildren Brennen, Autum, James III, Amiah, Easton, and Madylin, alongside another precious one on the way.

Dianna is preceded in death by her husband Roland (Ron) Reynolds; parents, Lloyd Landes and Josie Landes, alongside her siblings: brothers Floyd Landes and Raymond Landes, and sisters Opal Pearish and Mae Biege.

Her visitation will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave, in La Porte, (219) 362-3333, on September 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM, ending at 7:00 PM.

Dianna "Toodge" Reynolds will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her. Her heart, which was as expansive as her culinary creations, will be missed deeply by her family and friends.

Micheal William Reese

Micheal William Reese, known affectionately as Mike to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home in La Porte on August 30th, 2025, at the age of 48, surrounded by his wife and children.

Born on August 2nd, 1977, in the same town he would eventually build his life and legacy, Mike was a beam of strength and love to all who knew him.

Mike’s journey began as the son of Mary Kay Reese and the stepson of Terry Hough. He grew up an only child, but would meet his brother Brent (Rachel) Johnson and sister Jill (Mike) Rosenbaum later in life and form strong, unbreakable bonds with them both.

From a young age, Mike showed a remarkable aptitude for fixing things, a skill that he carried into his professional life as a maintenance maintainer at Ardagh Metals in Valparaiso, Indiana. There, his colleagues became his second family, a testament to his ability to form deep and lasting relationships with those around him. His work was not just a job; it was a place where he could share his kindness and generosity, traits that defined his character.

Mike's heart belonged first and foremost to his sweetheart, Autumn Reese. Their love story was one for the ages, beginning at the tender age of 17, enduring a brief separation, and rekindling with a passion that led them down the aisle in a medieval-style wedding at Fox Park in 2005. Together, they raised three wonderful boys, Bryce (Sami), Chase (Audrey), and Alex (Mary), and later welcomed Dacoda (Diane), affectionately known as Cody, into their fold. Mike's role as a father was one he cherished above all else, and his love for his children was a beacon that guided them through life's challenges.

The Reese homestead, built in 2008, was a labor of love for Mike and Autumn. Here, they raised goats, chickens, and pigs, and took joy in the simple pleasures of country living. Their involvement with the Goat Club during their boys' 4-H years was a source of pride and community. Each spring, Mike and Autumn would plant new life on their land, from fruit trees to Christmas trees, each addition a symbol of their commitment to nurturing their family and the earth.

Mike's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He relished hiking, camping, hunting, and shooting, but also found joy in quieter moments spent playing games or simply watching the day go by in his beloved garage. His 1985 Chevy truck was a project of particular pride, and the sight of his boys riding alongside their dad was a source of immeasurable happiness.

Mike's legacy is one of love, kindness, and generosity, qualities that he embodied every day of his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Autumn, his loving children, Bryce( Sami), Chase(Audrey), Alex (Mary), Cody(Diane), and his cherished grandchildren, Kimmy, John Micheal, Charlee May, and Brooklynn. His mother, Mary Kay, stepfather, Terry, brother, Brent, sister, Jill, and several nieces and nephews will carry forward his memory with fondness and pride.

Micheal William Reese was a man who never met a stranger he didn't like, who never sugarcoated the truth, and who always had a helping hand to offer. His impact on the world was as profound as the love he shared, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to flourish in the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

A Funeral Service will be at 11 AM Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the La Porte First United Methodist Church, 1215 Michigan Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, with Pastor Tim Ahlemeyer officiating.

Family and friends may visit from 10 AM to the time of services at 11 AM on Tuesday in the church.
