Richard "Ricky" Norman David Nagy, May 5, 1993 – September 12, 2025.

Richard “Ricky” Norman David Nagy, 32, of La Porte, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 12, 2025, in La Porte.

He was born May 5, 1993, to Noreen (Nagy) Steinborn.

Ricky was a very outgoing person who loved to make others smile, especially when they were feeling down.  He also enjoyed playing paintball and lifting weights.  He was a firefighter by trade, and by all accounts would do it for free.  He will be truly missed by his friends and fellow firefighters.

He is survived by his mother, Noreen Steinborn; stepfather, Thomas Hockelberg; siblings, Angelique Steinborn, Cory Steinborn, and Doreen Steinborn; best friend and brother, Adam McGovern; uncle, Norman Nagy Jr.; nieces, Evee and Aurora; and nephew, Brycen Scott.

Ricky was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Norman Nagy Sr. and Theresa Nagy.

A visitation to celebrate his life will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., (219) 362-3100.  The Indiana Fire Fighters’ Honor Guard will pay tribute to Ricky at the close of the visitation.
