Clara "June" Gibson, 65, of Kingsford Heights, IN, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Northwest Health La Porte, surrounded by her daughters in her last hours.

She was born on May 22, 1960, to Sheila (Meyers) Groeneveld.
June is survived by her 2 daughters, Paige (Jeremy) Devore of Kingsford Heights and Tina Brewer of Portage; 9 grandchildren, Braxton (Faith) Brewer, Jaden (Sabrina) Brewer, Jordan Brewer, Jonathan Petursson Jr., Jacub Ensign, Jorja Petursson, Jezabelle Evans, Robynson Kender, and Gaige Kender; sister, Sherri; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sheila Groeneveld; brother, Joe Petro; and many other beloved family members.
June worked for many years as an operator for an answering service. She loved to crochet, read, and play games, especially Scrabble. Most important to June was her time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Per June's request, cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. No services will be held, as June's desire was for everyone to have a cookout in her honor, on their own time.
