Toni Renae Stephens, 32, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10:12 pm in Northwest Health-La Porte. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN, with Chaplain Jim Shaffer officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral chapel.
She was born April 9, 1993, in Valparaiso, IN.
Surviving are her son, Ethan Stephens of Michigan City, IN; two daughters, Arianna (Tyler) Fisher-Cadwell of Milton, FL, and Rilynn Anderson of Michigan City, IN; her mother, Darla Joseph of Michigan City, IN; father, Anthony C. Stephens of Chesterton, IN; four sisters, Randi Lee (Chris Chalmers) Detraz of Michigan City, IN, Brandi Joseph of Grovertown, IN, Samantha Joseph of Little River, SC and Meghan Oliver of Chesterton, IN; her momma bear, Carla Joseph of Little River, SC; niece, Makayla Detraz; nephew, Nathan Cox; special-friend and partner in crime, Kelsey Pawloski of Michigan City, IN; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many special close family friends.
She was preceded in death by a nephew, Joseph Michael Cox, and her partner, Dylan Anderson.
She was a server and bartender at Shooters Bar & Grill, LaPorte, IN, and the Rhen Hilkert American Legion Post 21, Westville, IN. She was known for crocheting and reading enough to have a library. She loved to garden, hunt mushrooms in the woods, love life at the beach, and she loved Halloween and anything grim. Toni was an animal lover who rescued all types of animals. Most of all, she was a supportive mother, a self-sacrificing woman who would have given you the shirt off her back, and a figure in the community that many loved.
