Randolph W. Grice

Randolph W. Grice, August 12, 1949 - May 19, 2025.

Randolph W. Grice, a former security guard with a lifelong passion for sports, passed away on May 19, 2025, at Northwest Health-La Porte.

He was born on August 12, 1949, in La Porte, Indiana, to Alfred and Mary Jane (Weiler) Grice, who preceded him in death.

Randolph was a proud graduate of South Central High School in 1963 and began his career with AP Parts, where he worked for many years, before the company relocated to the Carolinas. More recently, he was a security guard in the auto industry.

Randolph was known for his warm and welcoming personality; he was the kind of individual who never met a stranger. His infectious spirit and ability to connect with others made him a cherished presence in the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His interests reflected his vibrant character; he was a passionate sports fan, with a particular fondness for the Cubs and White Sox baseball teams. Additionally, Randolph enjoyed bowling and participated in numerous leagues, often showcasing his competitive yet friendly nature.

He is survived by his brother, Theodore Grice of La Porte, IN. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the stories that will be shared in his honor.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. Cremation has taken place, and his cremated remains will be buried on Wednesday, September 10, at 10 AM in Union Mills Cemetery.
