Dee enjoyed a successful career as Senior Vice President at Senior Lifestyle (Michigan Avenue, Chicago), while also serving the Lord in a variety of roles in her church, community and amongst her Senior Lifestyle residents. Also known as “Aunt Dee,” she was often found in her kitchen preparing a Sunday roast dinner to be shared with family and friends, always trademarked with her famous homemade cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies.
Her legacy lives on not only through her children but also her beloved grandchildren (Chris Gorny, Jeff Gorny; Jamie DiGiacomo, Katie Hein, Jonathan Hunt; Craig Dereka, Natalie Dereka, Jimmy Dereka; Lauren Rix, Kyle Rix, Josie Rix), fifteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
