Carol A. Manske, 82, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 10:45 a.m. at The Elms at Michigan City.
Committal prayers will be conducted at the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel with Brother Shaun Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, is assisting with arrangements.
Carol was born December 25, 1943, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Raymond J. and Cora (Pearson) Manske.
Surviving are her sister, Jane (Tony) Wagner of Highland, Indiana; four nephews, Greg (Katie) Manske of Marion, Iowa, Mike (Rhonda) Manske of Porter, Indiana, Dan Manske of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Tony (Leslie) Manske of Iuka, Illinois; niece, Terri (Mark) Wells of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin; three great-nieces, Megan, Hannah and Alexandria; three great-nephews, Mark, Christopher and Jacob; great-great-niece, Blaire; and four great-great-nephews, Dane, Conrad, Madden and Wes. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Raymond J. Manske Jr.
Carol spent most of her career with Bethlehem Steel, where she worked as a clerical administrator until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Michigan City.
Carol was a very social person who never wanted to miss out on a good time. She had a big heart, a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh with her jokes. Her outgoing personality made it easy for her to make friends wherever she went, and she truly enjoyed being around people.
Although Carol never had children of her own, family meant everything to her. She shared a special love for her nieces and nephews and took great joy in watching the family grow through the generations. Her great-nieces and great-nephews, and later her great-great-niece and great-great-nephews, held a very special place in her heart. She treasured the time she spent with those she loved and will be remembered for the laughter, fun and love she brought to family gatherings and to the lives of those around her.
