Michael “Mac” L. McIntyre
On August 13, 2026, Michael “Mac” L. McIntyre, 72, of La Porte, passed away unexpectedly.
Michael was born on August 24, 1953, in La Porte, Indiana, to Richard and Betty McIntyre.
Michael leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Pam (Morgan) McIntyre. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories. He is also survived by his children, Andrew (Samantha) McIntyre and Adam (Kellie) McIntyre; and his grandchildren, Harrison, Lee, Morgan, and Violet McIntyre.
He is also survived by his sister, Susan (Craig) Anderson; brother-in-law, Terry (Susan) Morgan; nieces, Amy (John) Boyd and Abbie (Adam) Kramer; great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, and many lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Gilbert and Dorothy Morgan.
Michael enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, playing golf, antique shopping, coaching, watching his son’s and grandchildren’s events, and listening to music. He attended the First Church of God and was a man of strong faith.
Michael dedicated 44 years of his life to working for NIPSCO, where he took great pride in doing his job well. He served as a union representative who strived to make a safer working environment, while also supporting his fellow union members.
Though he will be deeply missed, Michael’s life stands as a testament to the importance of family, faith, hard work, laughter, and making the most of the moments we are given. He will forever be loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
In honor of Michael’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
