Dean Joel Graham

Mr. Dean Graham, 69, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 at Northwest Health-La Porte.

 

He was born July 6th, 1953 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Thomas E. Graham and Ann K. (Kamradt) Bennitt.

 

A lifelong resident of the area, Dean was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Kingsford Heights. On June 19th, 1976, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in La Porte, he married Patricia Graham. After joining Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Dean and Patricia renewed their vows on June 10th, 2001. Together they enjoyed volunteering at the Hesston Steam Museum. He worked as a pipe fitter for the Local 172 in South Bend, IN. Dean enjoyed helping others and was known for trading their labor for his plumbing. He loved reading and had a constructive mind, always creating things. His passion was his family and friends who he loved dearly.

 

He is survived by his wife, by his son, Alec (Tiffany Heckman) Graham of La Porte, IN; and brother, Paul (Cherri) Graham of Fairport, NY and many close friends.

 

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and step-sisters, Sandy Garb and Nancy Walkers.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, January 8th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, on Monday, January 9 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Kenneth Novak, officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery.
