(Indianapolis, IN) - Governor Braun has extended the state’s gas tax holiday for another month.
The extension suspends the gas excise and gas usage taxes, to the tune of about 60 cents in savings per gallon. It also extends the suspension of special fuel restrictions for farmers.
It took effect Thursday and will expire December 4th.
"Affordability is my top priority, and I'm using every tool available to help Hoosier families and farmers save money at the pump,” said Braun Wednesday. “We're keeping these savings for Hoosier families and farmers in place for another month while protecting funding for our roads and infrastructure."
The gas tax holiday has been in place since April. Its future is uncertain, with state legislators returning to regular session in January.
