(La Crosse, IN) - Three juveniles were arrested this morning for vandalizing the beloved high school gymnasium in LaCrosse.
La Porte County Police said law enforcement was made aware of the situation by a fire alarm triggering an early morning response to the gymnasium known as the “Tiger Den” by the LaCrosse Fire Department.
A sheriff’s deputy also responded to the building, which had been entered and vandalized in several areas.
Surveillance images helped investigators identify the juveniles, ages 14, 16 and 17, who were taken into custody at separate locations before 10:30 a.m. They were each charged with burglary and criminal vandalism, police said.
The Tiger Den, known for its cozy surroundings and historic atmosphere, continues to be used for indoor sporting events like basketball since the high school relocated to Wanatah several years ago.
