(Michigan City, IN) - Sentencing is scheduled for a Michigan City woman found guilty in the motor vehicle related death of her husband.
Miranda Suarez, 38, was found guilty by a La Porte Superior Court 1 jury last week.
She was convicted of Level 5 felony reckless homicide and Level 4 felony leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
About three years ago, authorities say she and her 24 year old husband, Kyle, were involved in an altercation in the parking lot of their home at Tall Timbers Apartments.
At one point, Suarez got behind the wheel of a vehicle and struck her husband while she was fleeing.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 3rd. A previously filed murder charge against her was dismissed before the trial.
