(La Porte, IN) - La Porte put a lackluster regular season behind them Friday night and came out on fire in their Sectional opener against Goshen.
The Slicers’ hot start included four drives, four touchdowns, 4-4 passing, two of those being scoring strikes. A 47-yard touchdown run by Bryce Jones at the end of the second quarter sent La Porte into halftime up 35-0.
Goshen picked up a couple of scores late in the game against La Porte’s second team defense. With a comfortable lead and a second half running clock, though, the Slicers quickly dispatched the Red Hawks 42-13 to advance to the Sectional final.
Michigan City also played Friday night. The Wolves lost to Chesterton 31-13. Other county football teams were knocked out last week.
But La Porte (3-7) continues on and will travel to Concord (5-5) next Friday.
