(La Porte County, IN) - Over 12,000 early votes have been cast, so far, in La Porte County with just days before Election Day.
As of late this morning, 5,201 early votes had been cast at the La Porte County fairgrounds and another 4,669 votes at the early voting location in Michigan City at 8th and Wabash Streets, according to La Porte County Clerk Heather Stevens.
At Wanatah Town Hall, Stevens said 592 votes had been cast at Wanatah Town Hall with another 496 votes at the Wills Township Community Building. Another 621 early votes had been cast in the mobile voting unit.
Stevens said early voters are still coming in at a good rate, which she expects to pick up even more until early voting ends Monday at 12 p.m.
“It’s, typically, the busiest time for early voting and I think that’s going to prove true this time as well,” she said.
There will be early voting Saturday at the fairgrounds, Michigan City and Wanatah Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Monday morning at all four locations.
