(La Porte County, IN) - A cell phone tower will be going up to improve coverage in the Union Mills area.
The La Porte County Board of Zoning Appeals this week approved a request from Verizon Wireless to put up a cell phone tower off Union St. The tower will stand 195 feet tall and go up on land zoned for agriculture.
The BZA heard from Royce Lou, a downstate private contractor involved with the project.
“Verizon Wireless identified a service gap in Union Mills and to the east of Union Mills,” he said.
Lou said the tower will go up on an over four acre parcel
“It’ll have fencing around it for security,” he said.
The BZA’s decision was unanimous.
