(La Porte County, IN) - Two people were seriously wounded when shot last evening in the Michigan City area.
La Porte County Police responded to the Woodland Crossing Apartment Complex following multiple reports of gunshots. Police said early findings of the investigation indicated there was a drive-by type shooting involving two vehicles.
A short time later, police said a crashed vehicle was located near 400 North and Woodland Ave. A 24-year old man near the vehicle was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
A 23-year old man also with a gunshot wound later arrived at a hospital. Both men wound up being transferred to regional hospitals for more advanced care, police said.

Police said the driver of the crashed vehicle, Cevin Crawford, 28, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, intimidation and other counts. His mother, Tina Sherrod, 51, was taken into custody for not obeying multiple orders to leave the area of an active investigation, police said.
