A driver was seriously hurt in a single vehicle crash yesterday in northern La Porte County.

According to La Porte County Police, the 43 year old man struck a tree about 5:30 p.m. at 900 North and 200 East. 

The driver from the La Porte area suffered injuries to his upper body and was taken by medical helicopter to a regional hospital for more advanced care, police said.

So far, the name of the driver and other details have not been released because of the ongoing investigation.
