(La Porte, IN) - The 24th annual roof sit here at the broadcast center in La Porte raised over $40,000 to take children shopping for Christmas.
The goal was $50,000 but additional money is expected to come in.
Our very own Dennis Siddall encouraged people to donate while broadcasting Friday from the roof at the broadcast center from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dennis at the end of his broadcast announced the grand total was $45,905.
“Not bad. Not bad at all, man. That was awesome,” he said.
Dennis also thanked everyone for contributing to the Deserving Children’s Christmas Shopping Tour held annually in early December.
“If it wasn’t for you and your donations, this wouldn’t happen, wouldn’t happen for 24-years. No way,” he said.
Last year, 600 children were given $175 apiece to go shopping with a volunteer adult escort primarily for clothing.
