OWI Follows Crash in Antique Car

(La Porte County, IN) - A Fish Lake man was allegedly impaired when he crashed his antique vehicle on Monday.

James Holland, 67, of Fish Lake is charged with operating while intoxicated.

According to La Porte County Police, officers about 5 p.m. found his 1937 Dodge on a guardrail in the area of 400 South and 800 East.  Holland told investigators he had his car out for a joyride when a deer crossed his path, causing him to swerve and lose control of the vehicle, police said.

He suffered an abrasion to the bridge of his nose but refused medical attention.  His alleged blood alcohol level was .161-percent.

A tow truck was called for the damaged car.
