(La Porte County, IN) - A Kingsford Heights man is facing allegations of driving impaired after striking a number of road signs yesterday afternoon.

Tracy Lloyd, 54, was booked into the La Porte County Jail on Class A misdemeanor operating while intoxicated.

About 3:30 p.m., La Porte County Police were dispatched to the area of U.S. 35 and U.S. 6 where a number of road signs were lying out in the roadway.  Lloyd was located in the grassy median on U.S. 35 between the northbound and southbound lanes.

He told the officer he was heading to Galien, Michigan when he lost control of his Chevy Avalanche, police said.   His alleged blood alcohol level was .214-percent or about two and a half times the legal limit.
