(La Porte County, IN) - There were no injuries in a house fire late this morning just outside La Porte.

 

Heavy smoke was coming from the eaves of the home when firefighters arrived at 2602 N. 100 West.  Everyone inside the home safely made it outside.

 

Center Township Fire Chief Jack Ott said firefighters from La Porte, Scipio, Kankakee and Springfield townships were called for assistance.

“We got a lot of departments here,” he said.

 

It took about 30 minutes to knock down the flames.  Ott said the fire was contained to the inside of the structure with no damage to the exterior of the single story home with an attached garage.  The extent of the damage was still being assessed.
