(Merrillville, IN) - NIPSCO has shed first light on when customers can expect to have their electrical service restored after Tuesday’s major storm.
According to NIPSCO, preliminary estimates indicate 90-percent of customers who lost power will have their service restored by no later than next Tuesday night. Service will be restored for remaining customers by no later than Friday night, August 21.
Further specifics on the projected restoration times were not provided.
About 60-percent of NIPSCO’s half million customers throughout northern Indiana had their service knocked out, an all-time record for storms in recent memory for the utility company.
NIPSCO said it will give restoration updates on a regular basis at NIPSCO.com/outages.
