(La Porte, IN) - A man whose car broke down in La Porte went straight to the police for help after allegedly consuming too much alcohol.

 

Marcus Cain, 41, of Michigan City is charged in La Porte Circuit Court with operating while intoxicated and possession of cocaine.

 

Police said Cain walked a few blocks to the police station on July 25 after his pink Chevy sedan broke down on Indiana Ave.  An odor of alcohol on his breath resulted in a test showing him allegedly with a blood alcohol level just above the legal limit.

 

Police said a plastic bag containing a small amount of cocaine was later recovered from his vehicle.
