(La Porte County, IN) - Work is ongoing to repair a La Porte County road that was abruptly closed.

On Friday morning Division Road was closed between Boyd Boulevard and about a quarter mile west of Fail Road. La Porte County Commissioner Steve Holifield said a sink hole was beginning to develop, possibly due to water backed up inside a collapsed drain tile.

On Saturday a crew repaired the hole temporarily and reopened the roadway. Division will close again and work will continue Sunday into Monday, if necessary, as the drain tile is repaired. In the meantime, Holifield recommends that motorists avoid that area of Division Road until further notice.
