(La Porte, IN) - There’s been a change regarding the fireworks show during the upcoming annual LakeFest in La Porte.
LakeFest, which runs for three days, begins on Friday.
La Porte Park Department Superintendent Mark Schreiber said the fireworks show above Clear Lake during LakeFest will be Friday night instead of Saturday night as in previous years.
“Hopefully, we’ll get a big crowd out there and everybody just really enjoys what’s going to be a kick-off to what we feel is one of the best weekends of the year,” he said.
Other LakeFest happenings Friday night include a wiffle ball home run derby at Ron Reed Field and live music at the nearby Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater at Fox Park along with steamboat rides on Pine Lake during each day of the festival.
The headline performer Saturday night will be Uncle Kracker, a former member of Kid Rock's band who scored a number of multi-platinum hits beginning in the 1990's
