(La Porte, IN) - A major road in the City of La Porte will be closed soon.

 

 

 

Beginning Monday, July 27, Boyd Boulevard will be closed from Indiana 2 to Jefferson Ave. for a major storm-water drainage improvement project.

 

The road will reopen in mid-September, said Craig Phillips, Director of Planning for the city.

 

“I believe we have put notices out through our communications director on social media,” he said.

 

Phillips said motorists during the road closure will be able to reach local businesses on Boyd Boulevard from Monroe St. 

 

One of the reasons for the project is to increase the storm water drainage capacity making it possible for businesses in that area to expand.

 

His comments were made at this morning’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.
