(Michigan City, IN) - Michigan City High School has hired a new principal.

Lucas Snyder will take over this upcoming school year. Snyder previously was principal at Barker Middle School since 2020. Prior to that, he was a teacher, coach, and assistant athletic director at the high school.

MCHS was under interim leadership following the abrupt resignation of former principal Mohamed Mroueh in March.

Replacing Snyder as principal at Barker Middle School will be Todd Dermody. Dermody spent the past three years as Dean of Students at Watervliet Middle and High School in Michigan. Prior to that Dermody was a math teacher at Krueger Middle School.
