(La Porte, IN) - A lengthy prison sentence has been given for the death of a La Porte woman from a drug overdose.

 

Michael Hart received a 32 year prison sentence yesterday in La Porte Circuit Court for Level 1 felony dealing in a controlled substance causing death.

 

Authorities say the 27 year old Michigan City man sold Bailee Hoops the drugs that claimed her life nearly two years ago.  The 30 year old Hoops was found dead at a home on Kingsporte Lane from overdosing on fentanyl and methamphetamine.

 

Hart told investigators he purchased the drugs in Chicago and he had known Hoops for a long time.
