(La Porte County, IN) - A smoky haze has moved into the area from the wildfires in Canada.

 

The smoke is evident in places like Stone Lake Beach in La Porte where conditions seemed mostly cloudy on what should have been a sunny day.

 

“There’s just a haze across everything,” said Mark Parkman, a farmer from the Westville area.

 

Parkman said there’s also a noticeable smell of smoke.

 

“It smells like you’re burning brush or you got a fire going,” he said.

 

According to weather forecasters, the haze from the wildfires moved into the Midwest and Northeast with help from a cold front.
