(Indianapolis, IN) - An air quality action day has been issued for the area today.

According to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, a primary factor is some of the smoke from wildfires in Canada moving into this part of the state.

Fine particulate matter in the smoky air along with ozone levels from 90 degree temperatures are expected to be in the unhealthy range.

The advisory includes La Porte, Michigan City and other parts of northern Indiana.
