Cooling Centers Ready to Help Beat the Heat

(La Porte County, IN) - Dangerously hot weather is here.

 

The National Weather Service has upgraded La Porte County and nearby counties south and east to an Extreme Heat Warning starting this afternoon through Thursday evening.

 

That means extended periods of dangerously hot conditions, with daily high temperatures in the mid-90s and heat index values up to 105 possible during the afternoon and early evening hours.

 

Overnight lows in the mid-70s will offer limited relief. Here is a list of area cooling centers available to the public to get out of the heat for the rest of the week:
