(La Porte, IN) - Hammocks are a new feature in Fox Park.

The hammocks were funded through a Kiwanis Club of La Porte Spark Starter Grant.

The Parks Department says the idea came from the La Porte High School Key Club, Kiwanis' student-led service organization. The project goal was to create a welcoming space for teenagers in the park.

The hammocks are located in the Maria Fruth Plaza across from the amphitheater and near the boat launch. Many people have posted pictures of themselves enjoying the hammocks to Facebook.
