Unpaid Court Fees Soon Going to Collections

(La Porte County, IN) - The La Porte County Clerk’s office is notifying the public anyone with outstanding fees ordered by the courts will be turned over to a collection agency.

Here’s a full copy of the notice issued by Clerk Heather Stevens.

Notice is hereby given that, effective July 1, 2026, the Office of the Circuit Court Clerk will begin referring all outstanding court-ordered fines, fees, cost, and other financial obligations that are more than ninety (90) days past due to a third-party collections agency.

All individuals with unpaid balances owed to the courts are strongly encouraged to make payments in full prior to July 1, 2026, in order to avoid additional collection action.

Accounts referred for collection will be subject to additional fees.

Payments may be made in person before July 1st, 2026.

After the July 1, 2026 date, payments for the delinquent fines will not be accepted in the Clerk’s Office. The payments for the delinquent fines will only be accepted through PayCourt at www.paycourt.com.

For questions regarding your balance, please contact the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm).
