(La Porte County, IN) - La Porte County Police are investigating a fatal head-on motor vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday.

It happened about 4 p.m. on Indiana 39 just south of Wanatah.

Police said 41 year old Sarah Geressy was pronounced dead at the scene.  The investigation shows the Burns Harbor woman struck an oncoming Jeep Wrangler when she veered over the center line, police said.

The other driver, 23 year old Grace Crone of La Porte sustained a lower body injury. Police said investigators are waiting for blood test results to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
