(La Porte, IN) - A La Porte woman was killed in a crash with a semi-truck over the weekend.

 

 

 

La Porte County Police about 1 a.m. Sunday were called to U.S. 20 and Michigan Street in Rolling Prairie.  Police said 48 year old Clemie Chapman while traveling eastbound veered over the center line and crashed into a rear axle of the semi and then the trailer.

 

Chapman was pronounced dead at the scene.  The truck driver from Joliet, Illinois was not injured.

 

Police said investigators are waiting for the results of toxicology tests to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved.  The crash happened where U.S. 20 is down to one lane in each direction for road construction.
