(La Porte County, IN) - A man involved in a motor vehicle accident in a La Porte County road construction zone is facing allegations of being impaired.

Nathan Fekete, 36, of Michigan City is charged in La Porte Superior Court 4 with operating while intoxicated as a Class A misdemeanor.

La Porte County Police about 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday responded to a report of a crash in the construction zone on U.S. 20 at Oak Knoll Road.  Fekete told investigators he was forced off the road by a semi-truck while he and the driver of the rig were both merging onto the highway from a ramp.

Police said Fekete had a blood alcohol level of .127-percent.  His 2014 Volkswagen sustained two flat tires and a damaged front bumper.
