(La Porte County, IN) - Early voting for the May 5 primary in La Porte County begins next week.
It starts on April 7th at the La Porte County Complex. A week later, the early voting site will move to the Community Building at the La Porte County Fairgrounds for the remainder of the early voting period, which expires the day before the May 5 primary at 12 p.m.
The early voting site in Michigan City is at 8th and Wabash streets.
La Porte County Clerk Heather Stevens said the two other early voting sites at Wanatah Town Hall and the Wills Township Community Center won’t open until April 21.
Stevens said voter turnout is not expected to be high enough for those sites to operate during the entire early voting period.
