(South Bend, IN) - A La Porte man will serve time in a federal prison for selling methamphetamine and having a loaded gun.
Edwardo Trevino has been sentenced in U.S. District Court in South Bend to eight years in prison and three years on community corrections. Authorities said the 43 year old Trevino during a traffic stop was found with a backpack containing methamphetamine and a pistol. It was against the law for him to have a gun due to a prior felony conviction.
U.S. Attorney Adam Mildred said the case was prosecuted with help from local authorities.
“This case is an example of how collaboration between state, local and federal law enforcement can achieve the most effective available response to drug and gun offenses,” he said.
