(Berrien County, MI) - An arrest has been made for a shooting at a Michigan rest stop along Interstate 94.
Noah Ditchie, 26, of Kalamazoo is being held in the Berrien County Jail on $1,000,000 bond on charges including assault with intent to murder. Police said the 34 year old man was shot Monday evening at a rest stop beside the westbound lanes near Watervliet. He was taken to Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, police said.
Ditchie is also facing charges related to a carjacking and assault of another victim, who was identified during the shooting investigation.
In recent weeks, a number of semi-trailers with drivers sleeping in their cabs were broken into and items stolen at the rest stop along Interstate 94 outside New Buffalo. Those cases remain investigation.
