(La Porte, IN) - A La Porte man is facing major drug dealing charges after allegedly caught rummaging through a vehicle with a ski mask on. Kevin Kissam, 45, is charged in La Porte Circuit Court with three counts including dealing in methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony. According to court documents, Kissam on February 16 was spotted by police using what appeared to be a flashlight inside a vehicle in the 300 block of J St. When approached, police said Kissam ran inside a nearby home and stood in front of the door to keep officers from going inside.
Eventually, he was taken into custody. Police said Kissam had over 50 grams of methamphetamine along with more than $1,000 in cash and a similar amount in counterfeit bills. More than a dozen prescription pills were also allegedly found on his possession.
Kissam was being held in the La Porte County Jail on $50,000 bond. He could face anywhere from a 10 to 30 year sentence if convicted on the drug dealing charge.
