(Indianapolis, IN) - Several students from the area recently served as pages at the Indiana Statehouse.
The Senate pages were Zuri Staley, a New Prairie Middle School student, Amelia Jackson and Samuel Smith, both from Urey Middle School in Walkerton, Plymouth High School student Eva Macey and Lacy Hahn, a homeschooled student from Knox.
Pages spend a day touring the historic statehouse, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator. They were welcomed by State Senator Mike Bohacek, a republican from Michiana Shores.
"I appreciate those who made the trip down to the Statehouse and encourage all students throughout Indiana to take advantage of this great opportunity," he said.
Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. The session for this year ended last week.
Parents interested in learning more about the program should visit www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Page-Program. Applications for the 2027 program will be available at the end of 2026.
