(La Porte, IN) - La Porte begins sectional play tonight in boys’ high school basketball.

 

The Slicers take on a very strong South Bend Riley team considered one of the best in this part of the state.

 

Our very own voice of the Slicers, Ben Davis feels La Porte has an outside chance but it’s going to take a near perfect game, starting by limiting the opportunities the opponent’s fast moving guards have to swiftly move up and down the court.

 

“We have to rebound the ball and we’re going to have to shoot the ball well and you can’t afford to turn the ball over hardly at all tonight because Riley will be heading the other way,” he said.

 

La Porte (16-7) was blown out by Riley (19-5) during the regular season.  The game is at Mishawaka High School, which is hosting the sectional tournament.  We’ll broadcast the game on 96.7 The Eagle beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m.
