(La Porte County, IN) - A familiar face at New Prairie Middle School will be the next principal at the school.

 

Heidi West has been the assistant principal at the school for the last three years.  She replaces Justin Holmquest, who became director of finance for the school corporation about a month ago.

 

New Prairie Schools Superintendent Dr. Paul White said West is a very good replacement for Holmquest, who led the school with distinction over the past eight years.

 

“It was critical to identify the right leader to move the school forward. Fortunately for New Prairie United School Corporation, that leader was right there,” he said.

 

West helped guide the school to national recognition as a Model Professional Learning Community School in 2024.  West is under contract as principal for two years.
