(La Porte County, IN) - A member of the La Porte School board has stepped down. 

Justin Holmquest stepped down after becoming Director of Finance for the New Prairie School Corporation.  Holmquest had been on the school board since 2023.  “We understand and support his decision to pursue this professional opportunity.  We congratulate him on his promotion and are grateful for his service to our community,” said Board President Ryan Seaburg.  Holmquest called serving on the board a “true privilege” and expressed appreciation to the community for its support during his tenure.

“I’m proud of the work we’ve done for our students, staff and the LPCSC community.  I’m confident the board is in excellent hands moving forward,” he said.  Eventually, the board will name his replacement.  Whoever is chosen will serve the 11 months remaining on his term.
