MC with Connections to NFL and I.U. Football

(Michigan City, IN) - Several Michigan City natives have been in the spotlight recently because of the recent success of professional and collegiate sports programs.

Braden Fiske, a 2018 graduate of Michigan City High School, just completed his second season as a starting defensive lineman for the Los Angeles Rams. Fiske had two sacks for the Rams Sunday in their conference finals loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Scott Dolson, a 1984 graduate of the former Rogers High School, is Vice-President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Indiana University, which won the national championship in college football earlier this month.  Dolson is credited with hiring Head Coach Curt Cignetti, who turned around a mostly losing program into a winner in just two seasons.

Michigan City is also represented on the Hoosiers football program by Aviana Garner, a 2021 graduate and a performance nutritional assistant on the team.

Jaden Wilson and Khushi Patel, who are members of the MCHS Class of 2025, are cheerleaders on the I.U. football team.

“It’s been an exciting few weeks for Michigan City alumni,” said School Board member Michael Gresham during last night's board meeting.

Gresham said those people are examples providing hope and encouragement for current students.
