(La Porte, IN) - La Porte Mayor Tom Dermody has his eye on a third term.

 

There’s been a lot of speculation since Dermody took office that he might run for governor or some other elected office at the state or federal level at some point.  But, Dermody said he’ll seek a third term as mayor if that’s what the community wants.

 

He made the announcement on the Morning Mayhem show this morning on 96 7 The Eagle.

 

“That is my goal if the community still sees progress, if they still see that we’re making movement forward.  People always bring up the governor, bring up these other things and right now we have things to finish in La Porte,” he said.

 

Dermody, a republican, is now in the third year of his second four year term. He formerly served 10 years as a state representative and prior to that was a member of the La Porte School Board.
