(La Porte County, IN) - There weren’t many power outages from the recent extreme cold and snowfall.
NIPSCO and Indiana Michigan Power Company reported just a handful of outages this morning. According to I&M, lineworkers, tree trimming experts and support staff were ready across the utility company’s 11 service centers if outages related to weather occurred.
More than 300 I&M customers in Elkhart were restored this afternoon after a vehicle slid off the road and hit a power pole causing that outage. I&M is asking the public not to approach any crews out working with dangerous electrical equipment to restore power.
The number of outages reported by NIPSCO across its service territory was 10 at about 2:30 this afternoon.
