(La Porte County, IN) - The number of drug overdose deaths in La Porte County dropped noticeably last year.

According to the coroner’s office, 22 people in 2025 died from drug overdoses, which was down from the previous year by 35 percent.  There were also 33 suicides last year, an increase of 36 percent from 2024.  According to the coroner’s office, there were 11 homicides countywide in 2025 or three more than the previous year.
