(La Porte, IN) - A La Porte man was at Soldier Field for the heartbreaking loss the Bears suffered in overtime during the playoffs last night.

 

Owen Strieter worked security at the game.  He describes how the crowd reacted to the Bears' game tying touchdown that forced overtime and when the Rams kicked the game winning field goal.

 

“My Apple watch kept going off, saying dangerously loud environment. It was pretty cool then you had the opposite when the Rams hit that field goal. Nobody wanted to believe it,” he said.

 

Strieter played football for Indiana University in 2017 and 2018.  He’ll be watching the Hoosiers play tonight for the college football national championship.

 

“It’s been one of the most fun football seasons I can remember in a long time,” he said.

 

His grandfather, Bob Strieter, played for the University of Miami, the team the Hoosiers are playing against for the title.
