Heroin Recovered in Traffic Stop

(La Porte, IN) - What seemed like a routine traffic stop resulted in the arrests of two La Porte residents for possession of heroin.

Nicholas Lambert and Hannah Hensell were pulled over on Pine Lake Ave. in La Porte on Sunday because the car they were in did not have a working light for the license plate, according to La Porte Police.  Police said the license plate was also expired.

All of the occupants were getting out of the vehicle when a plastic bag containing an undisclosed amount of heroin allegedly belonging to Lambert fell to the ground.

Police said Hensell was in possession of another bag of heroin recovered during the search.   Marijuana, a wooden smoking pipe and used syringe were also seized and resulted in additional charges against the suspects, police said.
